Stained Glass of St Mary Coslany Norwich

Exterior view of st Mary CoslanySt Mary Coslany is one of only four Norwich city centre churches with a round tower. This striking feature was originally built as a “fashion statement” and is common across Norfolk and Suffolk.

The windows are all Perpendicular with the exception of a blocked Decorated one on the north side of the chancel. Additionally careful examination reveals that the new Perpendicular east window does not totally obliterate its Decorated predecessor.

Although a number of windows contain stained glass there is no work of note, the majority of panes being in the form of coats of arms with many of them being in memory of deceased members of the parish.
